The Academy is a programme for those wishing to pursue a call in worship for the local church, the dream is to increase the worship climate of our cities and empower our local churches.
Based at Gas Street Church in Birmingham, you’ll learn life skills, tools to unlock your creative gifting, rich theology, leadership and ministry training with leaders who are impacting the world.

FAQs
Can you help me sort out accommodation?
Yes, we have a list of families and individuals who have extra space for students. Arrangements will vary depending on the location e.g. paying rent, covering cost of bills, helping with the school run.
I’d love to lead worship but I haven’t got much experience. Can I still apply?
Absolutely. This year is designed to grow your skills and passions no matter what level you are at. The application process is designed to discuss what God is calling you to and whether the Academy is a good fit for you.
Do I have to be a worship leader?
No! We’re looking for people who are passionate about developing their gifting and talent whilst wanting to be involved in worship leadership roles in church ministries.
Will I have time for a part-time job alongside the Academy?
Yes. Students often take on part-time jobs alongside the Academy but bear in mind that you must always be available on days listed above. You should also allow for time to do personal study and assignments in your own time.
Can you help me find a job after the year?
Yes. We have a Facebook group for Academy Alumni which you will be invited to when you finish the year. We regularly post Worship Pastor vacancies in that group. You will also receive coaching on applying for jobs as part of the year.
Are any conferences or training events included?
Yes! Your fee includes Wildfires festival at the end of May and our flagship training event The Week in June.
Can I pay the fee in instalments?
Yes. You can choose to pay the full amount upfront or split it across two instalments, payable at the beginning of each term. *Bursaries are available should you require financial support.
