It's March! Tim & Al become audio tour guides for the big London conference this month, listen to new song 'God Of All' by Ben Cantelon. Tim interviews Al exploring the key values of worship, followed by an arm wrestle!
I put together a rough version of this song about a year ago, using Acid loops. I'm hoping to finish it up and do a proper recording with a good vocalist in the coming months. I would appreciate honest feedback about what you like and dislike about it. I'm new to the forum, but will be adding some comments and feedback to others songs, as I am able.
Blessings,

Make A Beautiful Noise
By John Green © 2008
(verse 1)
It’s time to praise the Lord
Lift your hands and raise your voice
Jesus is the reason we’re alive
Lay your fears and worries down
As we stand on holy ground
Sing together to the Lord most high
Heaven will hear
(chorus)
Make a beautiful noise
Make a beautiful noise
A holy symphony
For the King of Kings
Make a beautiful noise
Make a beautiful noise
Lift His praises high
Celebrate new life
Make a beautiful noise
(verse 2)
It’s time to praise the Lord
He’s the one we’re living for
And we want to glorify His name
Worshiping in word and deed
Not just with the songs we sing
Living in His presence we are changed
Nations will hear
(chorus)
(bridge)
This is the sound of hearts set free
This is the song of the redeemed
This is the sound of hearts set free
This is the song of the redeemed
(chorus – drums + vocals)
(final chorus)

Hey Benmead, thanks so much for taking the time to give me some feedback! Yes, sometimes it can be challenging to keep up, if there are a lot of lyrics flowing by. I find that Matt Redman's songs pack a lot of content into a 4 or 5-minute time frame, but I appreciate the fact that his songs provoke me to thought.
With this song, I wanted to focus on two aspects of worship; verse 1 looks at what we typically think of when we say 'worship' - singing, lifting hands etc. Verse 2 looks at worship as a lifestyle of glorifying God & the world will 'hear' that song when the lives of believers play a symphony of praise to God.
So yes, there is a lot there, but I think that people can rise to the challenge of digging deeper in the song, and perhaps gaining an expanded perspective of what worship is... at least, that is my hope for the song.

First off, this is a decent song. It works. The lyrics are cohesive and the melody is accessible. Sometimes the hardest songs to write are the upbeat rockers. Well done.
My critique/suggestion would be to boil the best lyrical ideas from the 2 verses and merge them into a single verse that can be repeated (while still retaining/alternating the "heaven will hear" V1 & "nations will hear" V2.) Sometimes lyrics sung quickly can blow right past us and when there are multiple verses it becomes more and more difficult to focus on /retain what we've sung.
Thanks for writing. Keep it up!
